Whistleblowers - Used and Forgotten?
What ever happened to Sandra Cam - Boy Barredo - Jun Lozada as well as
other whistleblowers? The public feasted on them when their issues were
the hottest, and their words, in hearings, were sought.
Their issues now have lost their steam, and they feel used and
forgotten. To the point of breaking down, Sandra Cam explains the
plight of a whistleblower in a one-on-one interview with Cheche Lazaro.
In War-Torn Area, Teacher Lays Life for Kids
In the classrooms of Inug-Ug in Mindanao, the petty fights of students
aren’t the usual. They bear with them, in their sometimes violent
attitudes, the baggage of a war that their parents wage.
A teacher lays his life for these children—in the same place
where people lay their lives in battle.
"Probe" meets Guiamelon Andie, who has consecrated himself to teaching
the kids of Inug-Ug, despite conditions like not being paid for the
last two years. All these, to ensure that minds aren’t as torn as
the area ravaged by conflict.
Lesson Learned: Infanta Braces Itself for Typhoons
Twenty typhoons, possible flooding and landslides are expected by
Pagasa to hit the Philippines this year.
But unlike in 2004, when four typhoons and a landslide caught them
unprepared-and killed over a hundred-the people of Infanta, Quezon are
bracing themselves.
Warning bells will ring and volunteers will come to the rescue. "Probe"
revisits Infanta, and witnesses their preparations before disaster
strikes.
Catch these stories on "Probe"’s episode on May 28, Wednesday,
after Bandila on ABS-CBN.
